Programing the life of Paleos Ribotica...

It’s hypothesized that life passed through RNA centric world before its transition to current world. The curiosity as to how these life-forms devoid of both DNA and protein functioned, leads to theoretical recreation of hypothetical organism named Paleos ribotica (ancient living organism of RNA World). Evidence suggests that RNA possesses dual property; it can act both as a genetic blueprint and can also catalyse chemical reactions.  It is exhilarating to try & extrapolate our current knowledge of biology to understand ancient biological systems. My attempt to theoretically programme Paleo ribotica dwells entirely on following the molecular clues in extant organisms. Beyond RNA’s role of acting as blueprint & catalyst, biggest challenge however, remained lack of sensory network in these ancient beings. Ribo-sensors, which were recently discovered in 2002, are RNA-only sensory systems which acts like a switch in response to metabolite levels in these organisms. Not only can we use our secure knowledge to infer functioning of Paleos ribotica but can also design future antimicrobial medicine.
